Create an Email Ad

Email ads are a type of advertisement your partners can utilize in their email drops to their audience, driving traffic to your website or product(s). You can make email ads available to your partners in either HTML or image format.

Create an email ad

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Content → Ads.

  2. In the top-right corner, select Create Ad [Drop-down menu] → Email.

  3. Enter the Name of the ad.

  4. In the Email Type field, you can either provide HTML content or an image for your partner(s) to use for their email drop.

  5. If you select HTML Content as your Email Type:

    • Paste your HTML code for the ad in the Html Content field.

      • HTML content must contain at least one anchor tag. For example:

        <a href="www.google.com">Google</a>

        Make sure clickable links and form actions use absolute URLs. All anchor href values are replaced with tracking links by default. To prevent a link from being replaced by a tracking link, add the parse="no"attribute to your anchor tag. For example:

        <a parse="no" href="www.google.com">Google</a>
      • The {unsub_url} token can be used where you want the unsubscribe URL to be placed in the content.

    • Optionally, enter the Plain Text Contentof the email to enable your partners to send multi-part emails. This content must not contain HTML.

      • Included URLs must be absolute and use {trackurl_start} and {trackurl_end} tokens around trackable URLs.

      • The {unsub_url} token can be used where you want the unsubscribe URL to be placed in the content.

  6. If you select Image Content as your Email Type:

    • Upload the ad image by selecting the Choose File button in the Upload Image field.

  7. Enter Approved Subject Linesfor the email ad. These will be the subjects that partners may use for their email drops.

    • Select [plus] Add Another Subject to add additional approved subject lines.

  8. Enter Approved ‘From’ Address Name for the email ad. These are names that partners may use to send emails from.

    • Select [plus] Add Another ‘From’ Address Name to add additional names.

  9. Optionally, enter a Description of the email ad.

  10. Enter the landing page to which the email ad should redirect.

    • You can set a custom landing page by selecting Custom from the drop-down menu.

    • Select if the Landing page can be viewed on mobile phone browsers.

  11. Toggle on, then add, Metadata.

  12. Select on which Deal list this ad should be.

  13. Add Labels to the ad so your partners can more easily find it.

  14. If you want to restrict when the ad is active, set the Available Dates for this ad.

  15. Toggle [Toggle on] Restrict Partner Access to set which partners can use this ad. Search for the partners you want this ad to be usable for from the Search partners field.

  16. Select your Unsubscribe Method.

    Use Impact Solution If you don’t have an existing scrub file you can use impact.com’s in-house solution for unsubscribe management. impact.com will provide an unsubscribe link that can be appended to your email ad. (See point 5 of the instructions above)

    When an email recipient clicks this unsubscribe link, impact.com will store the recipient’s email address in an unsubscribe database and update your suppression list.

    Your suppression list will be made available to partners when they pull the email ad from impact.com or upon approval of an email drop request and an unsubscribe link will be automatically appended to your email ad. Use UnsubCentral Solution impact.com makes it easy to use your Unsubcentral account for unsubscribe management.

    During the email ad creation process you can enter your Unsubcentral download link and unsubscribe link. Your Unsubcentral download link will be provided to partners when they pull the email ad from impact.com or upon approval of an email drop request and your unsubscribe link will be automatically appended to your email ad. Use Your Own Solution If you have an in-house solution you can enter the URL of your suppression list and designate an unsubscribe link.

  17. If you want to add promotional themes to this ad, you can add Seasonal and Top Seller themes to the ad.

    • Toggle [Toggle on] the Seasonal option on and select what seasonal theme you want to add from the drop-down menu.

    • Toggle [Toggle on] the Top Seller option if you want to signal to partners that this ad is for a top-selling product.

  18. Optionally, select Show advanced settings to change the Language of the target audience.

  19. Select Next.

  20. A preview of the email ad will appear. From here, you can send a test email (Send Test Email), Save the ad, or save the ad and make it available to your partners (Save & Make Available for Use).
