Elevate Your Seller Partnerships with Sub-Affiliates

As an impact.com partner working with sub-affiliates, you have the opportunity to boost your earning potential through Seller partnerships. Strategies like running Amazon Associates alongside impact.com Seller partnerships and adding SharedId parameters to your tracking links can help you earn more and unlock greater visibility into sub-affiliate traffic for better performance attribution.

Tip 1: Run a hybrid strategy

Expand your earning potential by combining 2 affiliate strategies when promoting Amazon products:

  • Use your impact.com tracking links when promoting for brands with which you have a Seller partnership.

  • Use Amazon Associates links when promoting for brands with which you aren’t partnered on impact.com.

This dual approach is one of the most powerful strategies available to you. It lets you cover a wider range of product categories and reach more shoppers, all while taking advantage of impact.com’s robust toolset. By tapping into better commissions, longer cookie windows, and flexible reporting, you’re setting yourself and your sub-affiliates up for more sustainable success.

What this offers you

  • More Amazon products to promote

  • Up to 4x higher commissions with impact.com Seller

  • Flexibility to earn through 2 channels

  • Longer attribution windows with impact.com

  • Transparent reporting and reliable payouts

Bear in mind

You can’t earn credit from both channels on the same link. This policy by Amazon gives brands more transparency into partner performance and boosts your earning potential as a top performer.

Important: Amazon doesn’t allow you to add Associates tags to impact.com links because it creates uncertainty over which affiliate channel should receive credit for the sale. Doing so may cause you to lose commissions or be removed from the Associates program.

Why Amazon's policy works in your favor

Amazon’s stricter policies on link usage are ultimately a positive shift for the affiliate ecosystem:

  • Improved transparency: Brands gain confidence that commissions aren’t duplicated across programs.

  • Cleaner traffic sources: Reduces abuse from tactics like paid reviews or inflated click spam.

  • Smarter brand spend: Sellers only pay for genuine, high-quality traffic and conversions.

  • Higher earnings for top performers: With Seller networks offering 2x to 10x higher commissions, top affiliates and subnetworks can earn substantially more.

  • Longer attribution windows: With windows of up to 14 days, affiliates can benefit from extended buyer journeys—especially critical for high-ticket or complex purchases.

Tip 2: Add SharedIds to your impact.com links

Adding SharedIds to your Seller tracking links lets you see which sub-affiliates drive traffic and conversions so you can credit them accordingly and incentivize strong performance.

How SharedIds work

Partners with sub-affiliate networks can use SharedIds as 'flags' to identify the individual sub-affiliate or promotional channel responsible for a sale. In your impact.com reporting, every conversion you’re credited for will show up with the SharedId, giving you full visibility into which partner and platform influenced the customer’s decision to purchase the Amazon product.

How this benefits you

  • Attribute conversions and sales with greater accuracy

  • Break down reporting by sub-affiliate for clearer insights

  • Uniquely identify each sub-affiliate partner in your reporting data

Note: Amazon requires each link with a SharedId to receive at least 10 clicks before the data appears in your impact.com reporting. This policy protects consumer privacy by preventing identification of individual shoppers through low-traffic links. To keep your traffic data reliable, avoid using SharedId values tied to specific users or narrow audiences.
