Payout-related FAQs

Why have I not received my payout?

Your payout may not have been sent or received for several reasons. The most common reasons are:

  • You have not earned a reward in your program yet. Please log in to your program account and review your referral activity.

  • Your tax and payment details have not been filled out yet. Please log in to your program account and enter the required tax and banking details under the Tax and Payout Settings tab.

  • Your tax or payment details have an error that needs to be corrected. You should have received a notification email from mailto: compliance detailing the error. Please follow the instructions in the email.

  • Your payment threshold has been set to a higher amount than what you have earned to date. For example, if you have your payment threshold set to $100 but have only earned $50 to date, the payout will not be made until you earn an additional $50.

  • You have selected to be paid on a specific date. If you’d like to change your date, you can do so by logging in to your program account and selecting a different date. Navigate to the Tax and Payout Settings tab, go to Step 4, and scroll down to Payment Schedule.

If you still need help determining why you have not received your payout, please contact mailto: support.

  • Indirect Tax Information (If applicable)

  • Tax Documentation (If applicable)

  • Payment Method (Banking Details or PayPal Account Information)

  • Payment Schedule

  • Payout Method

When do I need to fill in my tax and payment information?

Tax and banking information can be provided at any time, but must be completed before receiving your first payment. If this information is not submitted, your reward will remain in a pending status until the necessary details are provided to impact.com. All submitted information will undergo a verification process by impact.com's compliance team to ensure accuracy, which may take up to 2 business days.

Once I submit my tax and payment information, are rewards automatically distributed to my bank account or PayPal account?

All submitted information will undergo a verification process by impact.com’s compliance team to ensure accuracy, which may take up to 2 business days.

Once verification is complete, rewards will be available for distribution to your account. However, the timing of the payout depends on your payment schedule:

  • Pay me when my balance reaches a threshold (minimum dollar amount required for payout)

  • Pay me on a fixed day of the month (e.g., the 1st or the 15th)

If there are any errors with the tax or payment information provided, corrections must be made before the reward can be issued. In the event of an error, you will receive an email from mailto: compliance detailing what needs to be corrected.

When will I receive my cash payout?

Several steps must be completed before a cash payout can be processed:

  1. Tax and payment details have been provided.

    • The submitted information undergoes verification by impact.com’s compliance team to ensure accuracy, which can take up to 2 business days.

  2. Program pending periods, as determined by the brand, have passed.

    • For example, rewards are typically made available 30 days after the qualifying event. Please refer to your program’s Terms & Conditions for specific pending periods.

  3. Payouts are made based on the payment schedule selected by you during the tax and banking setup. The available options are:

    • Pay me when my balance reaches a threshold (a minimum dollar value required for payout). You can adjust this threshold by logging into your program account, navigating to the Tax and Payout Settings tab, going to Step 4, and scrolling down to Payment Schedule.

    • Pay me on a fixed day of the month (e.g., the 1st or the 15th). To change your payment date, simply log into your program account and select a different date. Navigate to the Tax and Payout Settings tab, go to Step 4, and scroll down to Payment Schedule.

I already have an existing impact.com account for another program and have already submitted my tax and banking information. Do I have to re-submit?

Since you already have an existing account on impact.com, we will use the information from that account to process your payment for this program. If you need to update your banking details, please log in to your impact.com account and update your details.

Tax-related FAQs

Why do I need to submit tax forms?

If you earn income through a program paid via impact.com, impact.com does not withhold taxes from your earnings. As an Advocate, you may be required to submit an electronic tax document to comply with US or international tax laws. We recommend consulting with your tax advisor to understand your tax compliance requirements.

Where do I submit my tax and payment details?

If you have an account dedicated to your referral program:

Log in to your program account. You can access the tax and payment settings from the left-hand navigation bar under Tax and Payout Settings.

If you access your referral program through your customer portal:

Log in to your account and navigate to the referral program section within your customer profile. Scroll down to find the Tax and Cash Payout Settings.

What are the differences between the different tax forms?

The country you select in Step 1 of the tax and payment setup will determine what tax forms you are presented.

This form will be issued by impact.com in January or February to those who qualify in the following year (e.g., if you were paid out $599 or more in 2024, you will be issued a 1099 in January or February 2025).

What is indirect tax?

Indirect taxes (e.g., VAT, HST, GST) are transaction-based taxes typically applied to goods and services. Service providers are generally required to register with the relevant tax authority and collect these taxes on behalf of the government.

Do I have to fill in my Indirect Tax information?

If you are a service provider who has to provide indirect tax to your local tax authority (e.g., VAT, HST, GST), follow these steps:

  1. Select Yes, I registered for Indirect Tax in Step 2.

  2. Choose your country or region for indirect tax.

  3. Provide your indirect tax number.

If the brand you are working with is set up to handle the same indirect tax, it will be applied when your rewards are paid out.
