Credit Groups Explained

Your channel's Credit Group will set where this channel lands in the "hierarchy" of your channels. Settings the credit group for a channel is ultimately your decision, but impact.com does have recommendations for how to set them. Refer to the table below for a description of each credit group as well as impact.com's recommendation. Be sure to select Save after making your selection.

Credit Groups are a component of an Optimize Channel. They are configured when you create an Optimize Channel and can be updated when you edit an Optimize Channel.

Note

impact.com's recommendations are only applicable for Last Click crediting logic. If you use any other logic, reach out to your CSM for guidance on how to configure or update any Optimize Channels.

Description

Recommendation

Preferred

This traffic will be considered first when determining credit for an action. Credit rules like Last Click are to be understood as the Last Click amongst the Preferred media clicks.

Select this option if you want this channel to be credited with driving an action over other channels lower in the hierarchy if it was involved in driving an action.

Standard

This traffic will be considered second when determining credit for an action. Credit rules like Last Click are then to be understood as the Last Click amongst the Standard media clicks when no Preferred media channels were involved in the customer journey.

Select this option if you want this channel to be credited with driving an action if no Preferred channels were involved in driving an action.

Non-Preferred

This traffic will be considered lowest in the hierarchy when determining credit for an action. Credit Rules like Last Click are then to be understood as Last Click amongst Non-Preferred media clicks when there were neither any Preferred nor any Standard media channels involved.

Select this option if you want this channel to be last in line for being credited for driving an action. If any Preferred or Standard channels were involved in driving the action, they will be credited over channels with this Credit Group.
