Indirect Tax Explained for Brands

Indirect tax is the global term impact.com uses for the Value-added Tax (VAT), what some countries call the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Canada’s Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), the Quebec Sales Tax (QST), the Spanish WIthholding Tax (WHT) and other region- or country-specific tax policies.

When does tax appear on invoices?

If both parties (brand and partner) have indicated that they are tax registered in the same country/region, then taxes will be levied when an action occurs.

When an invoice is generated, the tax portion of the costs is added "per action" and not on the total amount that is due.

Note

Taxes may apply to subscription fees depending on the impact.com entity you are signed with. Some US-based users are subject to sales tax on subscription fees depending on their registered tax state.

On which fees are taxes charged?

Can be charged on partner commissions or subscription fees.
