Integrate with Rockerbox

Rockerbox can track your actual marketing spend, and can integrate with impact.com to better track how partners you have on impact.com play into your marketing efforts.

Rockerbox integration with impact.com is ideal for direct-to-consumer brands (DTCs), since actions your partners drive (and their payouts for driving those actions) might affect future marketing budgets and activities.

Set up URL parameters

URL parameters are automatically filled when your partner drives a consumer to click on an ad you supplied them with, like a banner ad. The URL parameters are managed in the Gateway Tracking Settings.

  1. From the left navigation bar, select [Menu]→ Settings.

  2. On the right, under Tracking, select Gateway.

  3. Next to Partner Tracking Template, toggle [Toggle on] Automatically append querystring parameters to all landing pages for Partners.

  4. Add the following URL parameters, listed below. You can keep any existing parameters you already have and can add more on later. If these parameters are already present, do not add them again.

    • ir_partnerid={irpid}

    • ir_adid={iradid}

    • ir_campaign={ircid}

  5. Select Save.

Create a custom Advanced Action Listing Report

You will need to create a custom Advanced Action Listing Report to help populate Rockerbox's Spend Report.

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Reports → All Reports.

  2. Below All Reports, enter "Advanced Action Listing" in the Name search box and select [Search].

  3. Below Name, select Advanced Action Listing.

  4. In the Date Range filter, select Ad.

  5. In the Show filter, select Ad.

  6. Next to Advanced Action Listing, select Save.

  7. Name the report "Rockerbox Spend Report Integration."

    • Toggle if you want this setup of the report to be your default view of the report.

    • Toggle if you want this setup of the report to be viewable to other users of your impact.com account.

  8. Select Save.

Schedule the report

After the report has been set up, you will need to send the report daily to Rockerbox so that the integration can happen automatically.

Note

You will need to have Rockerbox integrations enabled for impact.com before you can send the reports to Rockerbox.

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Reports → Saved.

  2. Below Saved, enter "Rockerbox Spend Report Integration."

  3. Below Name, select Rockerbox Spend Report Integration.

    • This is the custom report you created in the previous section.

  4. In the top right corner, select [Schedule].

  5. Next to Frequency, select Schedule Delivery.

    • Select Daily from the first drop-down menu. You can select any choice from the second drop-down menu.

  6. Next to Format, select CSV from the drop-down menu.

  7. Next to Delivery Method, select Partner FTP.

  8. Next to Server URL, select sftp:// from the drop-down menu.

  9. Fill in the Directory, Port, Username, and Password with the credentials you retrieved from the Rockerbox Integrations page.

  10. Select Schedule and Send.

If the report was set up properly, impact.com should now automatically send Rockerbox a report every day that will help populate your future Spend Reports with Rockerbox.

Note

Your report can be rejected if you enter the wrong SFTP settings. If this happens, you will need to create a fresh report, so return to the Create a custom Advanced Actions Listing Report section.

Populate historical Rockerbox spend reports

After you have set up the integration with Rockerbox, you can send historical impact.com reports to populate historical Rockerbox Spend Reports.

Note

You should create additional one-time reports to send to Rockerbox for any historical data, and leave the custom report you created alone after it has been successfully set up.

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Reports → All Reports.

  2. Below All Reports, enter "Advanced Action Listing" in the Name search box and select [Search].

  3. Below Name, select Advanced Action Listing.

  4. In the Date Range filter, select the date range you want to send to Rockerbox.

  5. In the Show filter, select Ad.

  6. In the top right corner, select [Schedule].

  7. Next to Frequency, select Send Now.

  8. Next to Format, select CSV from the drop-down menu.

  9. Next to Delivery Method, select Partner FTP.

  10. Next to Server URL, select sftp:// from the drop-down menu.

  11. Fill in the Directory, Port, Username, and Password with the credentials you retrieved from the Rockerbox Integrations page.

  12. Select Schedule and Send.

Note
