Expire Ads as a Brand

In order to prevent further use of the content you've made available to partners, you should follow these steps.

Step 1: Expire an Ad

Once an Ad has reached the end of its promotional period, you can expire it. While expiring an Ad removes it from the partner's content marketplace, some instances of the Ad might appear on your partner's website and social channels. All post-expiration clicks generated on that content will be reported in the Clicks from Expired Ads report. To expire an Ad:

  1. In the left navigation bar, select Content → Ads.

  2. Find the Ad you want to expire and select Update.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the ad details, select Expire.

  4. Read the pop-up notification and select I understand, continue.

Step 2: Redirect or block access to expired content

Once you have expired an Ad, partners will no longer have access to the Ad code, however, partners that had the ad code saved before it expired, will still be able to use it. To prevent or redirect traffic from the expired ad, set up a redirect link with an interstitial page, or block users from navigating to the expired link.

Step 3: View traffic from expired Ad and notify Partners

When impact.com receives click data from ads that you've expired, you can see the details of that traffic from the Clicks from Expired Ads Report. This will indicate what partner(s) are hosting an expired ad, making it easy to discover which partner(s) should be notified about ads you will be deleting soon.

Step 4: Delete the Ad

  1. In the left navigation bar, select Content → Ads.

  2. Select the Status filter and select Expired.

  4. Select the [Checkbox] in the upper-right corner of the ad.
