Custom fields are used to gather pieces of information about your partners via surveys. E.g., if you frequently collect partners' date of birth, you can create a birthday custom field using the date picker question type.
Create custom fields
This feature is only accessible to specific impact.com editions or add-ons. Contact us to upgrade your account and get access!From the left navigation bar, select
[Menu] → Settings.On the right, under Technical, select Custom Fields.
In the upper-right corner, select Create Custom Fields.
Complete the custom field information:
Name: Add a name to easily recognize the custom field when adding it to a survey.
Description: Add a custom field description to describe the data representing the custom field. This description will not be visible to the partner.
Privacy Level: Leave the privacy level as Private.
Display Type: Add the question type that best captures the data for which you are looking.

Multiple Checkbox
Answers that require one or multiple option(s).
Dropdown
Multiple answers with multiple selection options hidden in a dropdown menu.
Multiple Choice
Answers that require one of multiple options.
Datepicker
Answers that require a date.

Answers that require a number.
File
Any attachment needed from the partner.
Select Save.
You're now able to select the custom field from the drop-down menu when creating a survey.
