Designed for e-commerce and retail clients, instant access widgets provide your customer advocates and their referred friends with an easy way to engage with your referral program—no password or authentication required. For more details about how instant access widgets work, refer to Widget Types Explained.
Instant access widgets can be set up for new referral programs, or for existing referral programs that use fuel tank rewards.
From the left navigation menu, select Program Rules.
Under Section 2: Customize your design and messaging, select Customize below either the website referral widget or the friend widget to open the widget editor.
Optionally, if you're setting up a friend widget, select
[Unchecked box] Show below Show automatically for referred friends.This option enables the auto popup feature. Auto popup creates a more engaging referred friend experience by making the friend widget stand out on the landing page.
Adjust the appearance and contents of the template.
Components from the following groups can’t be added to instant access widgets: Rewards, Statistics, Microsite Components, or Referrals. For more information about how to use the widget editor, refer to Customize Program Widgets.
Save your changes to the widget.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 if you want to set up the other instant access widget.
If you’re using a friend widget, then you will need to set up a fuel tank reward.
The fuel tank is a simplified way of handing out rewards using unique coupon codes. Your program participants can redeem these codes for rewards, including discounts, credits, and other reward types. Clients supply the coupon codes for the fuel tank. You can either create these codes on your own, or use your existing ecommerce or billing platform to create them for you.
To start using fuel tank rewards in your program, you’ll need to incorporate them into your program rules. Skip this step if you aren’t using the friend widget to issue coupon codes.
From the left navigation menu, select Program Rules.
Under Section 1: Setup your program, select Edit below the name of the reward.
Select Pre-configured reward.
From the Reward drop-down list, select the fuel tank reward you created.
Save the reward selection.
Congrats! Your instant access widgets are ready to use. The final step is to generate a code snippet to embed into your post-purchase landing page, checkout flow, or wherever you want participants to access them.
From the left navigation menu, select
[Menu] → Settings.On the left, below Advocate Settings, select Install.
In the Display Widgets settings, select Instant Access as the type of widget you want to display.
From the drop-down list, select one of the instant access widgets you created.
Choose whether you want to generate a code snippet for an Embedded widget or a Popup widget.
Embedded widgets are displayed directly in your web page.
Popup widgets will load in a popup after the participant clicks on your designated button or link.
Copy the generated code snippet.
Repeat this process to generate a code snippet for the other instant access widget, if you created both.
Add the code snippet(s) to your e-commerce platform or landing page.
