Set a Custom Reporting Calendar

If your reporting cycle does not begin on Monday for weekly cycles, the 1st of each month for monthly cycles, or January for yearly cycles, you should set a custom reporting calendar.

Set a custom reporting calendar

This feature is only accessible to specific impact.com editions or add-ons. Contact us to upgrade your account and get access!
  1. From the left navigation menu, select [Menu] → Settings.

  2. On the left, under Tools, select Customized Reporting Calendar.

  3. Under Upload your calendar file, select Choose File, then upload your calendar file in .CSV or .XLSX format.

    • See the File requirements section below to view what your file must contain.

  4. Select Next.

  5. Review that your custom calendar was processed correctly, then select Save.

    • If your calendar file has any issues, you will not be able to save it.

Regularly update your customers

Once the final month of your custom calendar passes, custom reports will begin to follow standard calendar cycles and reporting cadences. Upload an updated custom calendar file regularly to keep your reporting cadences aligned with what you want.

File requirements

Your file must align with the following requirements:

  • Include the year, month, and start date for each month of your reporting calendar in separate columns. Select Show/hide file format details for more information.

  • Your file must contain, at minimum, 13 months of custom reporting calendar dates. You cannot skip months. For example, the minimum you could upload is 13 rows governing custom reporting calendar dates for January 2022 to January 2023.

  • If you want to view historical performance data and trends that align with your custom reporting calendar, you must include the custom calendar data for historical time periods.

  • Your file should have 13, 24, 36, or 48 months, going up in multiples of 12 months from 24 months onwards.

  • You must include future custom reporting calendar dates if you plan to use predictive reporting or to compare data from 2 different time periods.

Example custom reporting calendar

After successfully uploading the file, you can review the calendar at any time by returning to the Customized Reporting Calendar screen. From there, you can download the file you uploaded, delete your custom calendar, and replace the calendar file at any time.

Once you have uploaded a customized reporting calendar then if you only need to set the start day of your reporting week, you can do so from the drop-down menu.
