Indirect Tax Explained for Brands

Indirect tax is a tax passed off by the government on goods and services. It is collected by the manufacturers or sellers of goods and services from the customer when they purchase an item or service, and then paid to the government.

Indirect tax (common forms of this tax is referred to as VAT, GST, Sales Tax, Consumption tax, HST, PST and is dependent on the jurisdiction) is chargeable, where relevant, on impact.com invoices, partner invoices and is reflected as such under a separate line item per action.

View your indirect tax information

  1. From the left navigation menu, select ellipsis-v-solid.svg [Menu] → Finance.

  2. Select Settings → Legal Entities.

  3. Hover your cursor over the legal entity you want to see indirect tax information for, then select Edit.

  4. In the Indirect Tax section, you can see if you are registered for indirect tax and what your indirect tax number is.

    • Alternatively, toggle-on-solid.svg [Toggle on] Indirect tax and specify what country you are registered in for Indirect tax and input your indirect tax number. Then select Save.
