Deal Types Overview

A Deal is a promotional offer or discount from a brand, often promoted through ads, promo codes, or other marketing materials. It aims to boost customer engagement and sales by offering discounts, sales, free shipping, or special giveaways.

Deals are a great way to organize and group your promotional offers and ads. For example, if you're running a BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) promotion, General Sale, Free Shipping, Gift with Purchase, Rebate, or a Product Launch, you can create specific deals to organize all related content (ads, promo codes) in one place. This way, each promotion type has its own group, making it easy to manage and track. You can also share these deals with your partner network, who can search for active promotions on platforms like impact.com and use the associated content in their marketing efforts to drive more sales.

Understanding the deal types

It's important that you choose the best deal type, not just to offer the right incentive to your customers, but also to strategically reward you as a brand.

  • General Sale: A standard discount, used for attracting customers or clearing stock.

  • Free Shipping: Free delivery, often with a spending minimum.

  • Gift with Purchase: A free bonus item when you buy something.

  • Rebate: Full price upfront, but get some money back after the purchase.

  • BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free): Buy one, get another item for free or at a discount.

  • Product Launch: Special offer tied to a new product release.

How do deals affect my partners?

Deals don't impact your existing contract with a partner, so they will continue to earn commissions based on the terms of their contract for actions within a deal. You can adjust template terms to offer additional incentives, like higher commissions on specific items, to encourage more promotion of your deal.
