Create Newsletter Recipient Segments

The Segments screen shows all of the existing newsletter segments created in your program. Use newsletter segments to organize your partners into rule-based, which can then be selected when sending newsletters. impact.com generally recommends creating Newsletter Segments as the easiest way to send newsletters.

Note

To view the legacy newsletter experience, at the top of the Newsletters page, select [More]Revert to old Newsletters.

Create a newsletter segment

  1. From the left navigation bar, select PartnersNewsletters.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select Segments.

  3. In the top-right corner, select Create Segment.

  4. Enter your newsletter segment details below the Edit Segment section:

    Field

    Description

    Name

Enter a name for this newsletter segment. This will be the name you select when using the segment for a newsletter.

    Rules

    1. Specify the rules by which impact.com should segment newsletter recipients. E.g., Partner Group is Loyalty

      • See the Segment selection rules section below for more information on these rules.

    2. Select the Preview Segment button to view a list of newsletter recipients based on the rules that you've set.

  5. At the bottom of the screen, select Save.

Segment selection rules

Rules can be created to develop a list of partners that will receive the newsletter.

Using And the operator will make the rules exclusive, meaning that both rules must be satisfied in order for a given partner to be included on the list.

Select Add another to add another rule that’s independent of the first rule.

The partners on a rules-based newsletter segment can change depending on the rules you select. For instance, having a rule saying Prospecting Stage is any of Joined + Partner Group is of any Loyalty Group will add joined partners that belong to the Loyalty partner group and will remove partners that are not part of that group.
