Create & Send Newsletters to Partners
Use Newsletters in impact.com to send email and in-app newsletters to your partners. These newsletters can be used for correspondence, upcoming changes about your program, special promotions, and more.
Create a Newsletter
From the left navigation bar, select
[Engage] → Partners → Automation → Newsletters.
Select Create Newsletter.
Enter the Newsletter Name that will set it apart from other newsletters, (e.g., Starks Mother's Day).
Proceed by filling in the information in both the Partner Segment and Email sections.
In the Partner Segment section, conditions can be created to develop a list of partners that will receive the newsletter.
Select Add Segment to create a selection of partners that you would like to engage with.
You can choose Select Segment to apply an existing segment from a
[Drop-down menu] or select Create new segment and enter a name for a new segment.
Specify the Conditions by which impact.com should segment newsletter recipients.

Performance conditions focus on partner activity within your program.
Partners conditions focus on who the partner is and their relationship with your brand.
Use this condition to target partners based on their current status and progress within your brand's relationship lifecycle.
E.g., target partners in the New stage to kick off the initial introductory newsletter.
Available values
New - Partners you've tagged as prospects, but have yet to email or send a proposal to.
Outreach - Partners to whom you've sent an email or message.
Negotiating - Partners without an accepted contract, including those awaiting a decision, those who haven’t accepted your proposal, those who countered your proposal, and those whose application you’ve countered.
Joined - Partners joined to your program.
Expired - Partners with expired contracts.
Select All - Apply all prospect stages.
E.g., Relationship Stage
is any ofNegotiating, Joined.
Use this condition to target partners by setting criteria based on the exact date they most recently joined your program.
E.g., target partners who joined after a specific date to onboard them with the latest industry news.
The Original Joined Date can be an Exact Day (a single date like Today or 7 Days Ago) or a Date Range (a span like Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days) within the last 3 to 365 days.
Use this condition to target partners by setting criteria based on the exact date of their most recent relationship stage change.
E.g., target partners whose last transition was within the last 7 days to ensure they receive the corresponding onboarding newsletter edition immediately after moving to the Joined stage.
The Last Transition Date can be an Exact Day (a single date like Today or 7 Days Ago) or a Date Range (a span like Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days) within the last 3 to 180 days.
Use this condition to target partners based on their membership in groups.
E.g., Partner Group is any of Loyalty Partners.
Use this condition to target partners based on the specific contract or set of terms that legally ties the partner to your brand.
E.g., Partner Template Term is any of Mother's Day Terms, Black Friday Terms.
Use this condition to target partners based on the specific, granular legal status of their contract with your brand.
E.g., target partners in the Expired stage to send an urgent renewal-focused newsletter with details on re-contracting options.
Available value
Awaiting Advertiser Approval - Partners awaiting for contract approval from you.
Advertiser Countered - You have countered a contract proposal.
Pending Contract Expired - The proposed contract has expired.
Awaiting Publisher Approval - Partners who have not yet accepted your contract proposal.
Publisher Declined - Partners who have declined your contract proposals.
Publisher Retracted - Partners who have withdrawn contracts they've proposed to you.
Publisher Countered - Partners who have countered your contract proposal.
Expired - Partners whose contracts have expired.
Advertiser Declined - Partners who have had their contract declined by you.
Awaiting Contract Start - Partners who have upcoming contracts starting with you.
Advertiser Retracted - Partners from whom you have withdrawn contract proposals.
None - A contract does not exist between you and the partner.
Joined - Partners who are joined to your program.
Select All - Apply all contract stages.
Use this condition to target partners by searching for or selecting specific partner names.
E.g., Partner Name is any of Russel Sprout, Noah Lott.
Use this condition to target partners by searching for or selecting their unique, numerical Partner ID.
E.g., Partner ID is 123456.
You can find partner IDs by going to [Discover] → Partners → Partners and referencing the ID in the Partner field.
Use this condition to target partners based on their primary geographic location or registered country.
E.g., Partner Country is any of Bulgaria, Chile.
Use this condition to target partners based on their preferred or registered language.
E.g., Language is any of English, Spanish.
Use this condition to target partners based on whether their total number of conversions recorded meets a defined threshold or limit.
E.g., target partners whose actions are greater than a certain number to identify highly engaged audiences.
Use this condition to target partners based on whether their total number of link clicks meets a defined threshold or limit.
E.g., target partners whose clicks are greater than a certain number to identify highly engaged audiences.
Use this condition to target partners based on whether their total commission earnings paid meets a defined threshold or limit.
E.g., target partners whose commission earnings are greater than a certain amount to recognize top performers.
Use this condition to target partners based on whether their total revenue generated from driven actions meets a defined threshold or limit.
Target partners whose revenue contribution is less than a certain amount to provide performance improvement advice.
Use this condition to target the period for assessing a partner's clicks, actions, or revenue. It must be paired with at least one additional condition related to these metrics.
E.g., the Performance Date Range can be an Exact Day (a single date like Today or 7 Days Ago) or a Date Range (a span like Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days) within the last 3 to 365 days.
Select Preview Segment Partners for a preliminary display of the segment. Once you're happy with the preview, select Save.
Select Add Email to start creating your newsletter content.
Optionally,
[Toggle on] the Messaging Template setting to apply an existing messaging template, then select a template from the
[Drop-down menu].
Enter your email details:

This is the from name that recipients will see when they receive the newsletter.
Reply to
This is the email address that partners will contact when they reply to this newsletter.
Cc/Bcc
[Toggle on] to include a Cc or Bcc email recipient in addition to the partners in your chosen segment.
• You can add 1 email address to the Cc field and 1 to the Bcc field.
• Any email address added as a CC or BCC will receive a copy of every email sent to partners in the selected segment. The number of emails may vary depending on the segment size.
Generate with ai
Note: This functionality is in beta. Contact your CSM or our support team if you'd like to test this feature.
1. On the Create Newsletters screen, select Generate with ai, and let impact ai help you create your newsletter content.
2. In the Help me write section, enter a short paragraph about the subject of your newsletter.
3. Optionally,
[Toggle on] Advanced Options
4. Select Generate to create the subject line and content based in your inputs.
5. Select Insert, to add the generated text to the Content section.
6. Optionally, select
Edit Request to make changes to the information you entered, or
Regenerate to get a fresh version of the content based on your existing inputs.• Optionally, select
[Copy] in the top-right corner to duplicate the content with its HTML formatting preserved, allowing you to paste it elsewhere as needed.• For detailed instructions, examples, and best practices for using impact ai in your newsletter, see the linked article.
Subject
The subject of the newsletter email.
Content
Use the WYSIWYG editor to create or edit your newsletter content. Hover over the icons to view formatting and content options (e.g., to upload an attachment, select
[File] and drop your file).
Optionally, Insert signup link to one of your template terms. This will add a Join my program button that acts as a sign up link to your template terms.
Optionally, Insert additional dynamic token into your newsletter. You can see the dynamic fields available by selecting the
[Expand] icon to the right of the option.

If you want to save this newsletter as a template to be used in future, select
[Toggle on] Save as new messaging template.
Select Preview for a preliminary display of the newsletter. Once you're happy with the preview, select Done or Send test email.

Select Insert to populate your newsletter with relevant information (such as a partner’s name, or the current date) in your newsletter.
Attention: Tokens are case sensitive. Do not place any formatting within special tokens (for example,{lastName} is valid but, {LastName} is not.
{adcode_<adid>}
Populates with the full ad listing of the specified <adid> value (e.g., {adcode_1122330}).
Warning: To prevent delivery failure, ensure your segment size does not exceed the maximum limits based on your newsletter's ad code count.

Populates with the last name of the partner (e.g., Doe).

Populates with the current date (e.g., January 19, 2038).
{currentTime}
Populates with the full date in ISO format (e.g., 19-Jan-2038 03:14:08 UTC).
{currentMonthYear}
Populates with the current month and year (e.g., January, 2038).
{unsubscribeUrl}
URL to unsubscribe from the newsletter.
Warning: All email newsletters must include a visible and functional unsubscribe link. If you don’t add an unsubscribe token, our system will automatically append one at the end of your newsletter to ensure compliance.
{programName}
The program name.
{programLogoSrc}
The source URL of the program logo.
Optionally,
[Toggle on] In-app Announcement feature to have the same or custom Content be sent to your partners in-app.
Optionally
[Toggle on] Schedule to select a future date and timezone for when the newsletter can be sent.
Select Schedule Newsletter to initiate the schedule.
Optionally, you select one of the following options to complete the process:
Send Newsletter - Send the newsletter to your selected partners right away.
Send Test Newsletter - Send a test version to yourself or your team to see how it looks before sending it to partners.
Save as draft options
Save and exit - Save your work and leave the page.
Save and stay on the page - Save your work but stay on the page to keep editing.
Note: After a newsletter is sent, it can take between one hour and a full day (24 hours) for the associated metrics to fully update.
