# Understand Your Marketplace Application Status

In impact.com's marketplace, you can discover thousands of brands to work with. To join the marketplace, you first need to [apply](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/applying-to-brands/join-the-brands-marketplace.md) and be approved. This guide explains how to check your application status and improve your chances of approval.

The statuses in this guide relate only to your marketplace application and are different from your relationship status with individual brands (e.g. Pending, Active, or Declined).

#### Marketplace application statuses

After you request to join the marketplace, your application goes through the following statuses:

1. **In Review** — impact.com received your application and will review it for authenticity and compliance. You'll receive a decision within 72 hours.
2. **Approved** — impact.com found that all is in order with who you claim to be and your media property ownership. Your public profile is now live in the marketplace for all brands to see.
3. **Declined** — Your partner account did not pass impact.com's compliance standards and your application was rejected.

**Did you know?** A partner's marketplace access can be revoked for suspicious activity, like fraud, even after initially being approved.
{% endhint %}

#### Check your application status

Here's how to confirm which status your application is in:

1. Log in to impact.com.
2. From your top navigation bar, check if you can access **Discover** → [**Find Brands**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/marketplace/new-campaign-marketplace-flow.ihtml).
3. If you can see brands and **Apply** to join programs, then your application was `Approved`—learn how to [get productive](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/getting-started/readme/im-a-partner/step-2-apply-to-brands.md)!
   * If you cannot access the marketplace this way, your application is in one of the following statuses:

{% tab title="In Review" %}
Check if your marketplace application is still in review:

1. Open your [dashboard](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/home/pview.ihtml).
2. Check if there is a *Marketplace Status* overlay on your navigation bar.
   * This means your marketplace application is still `In Review`.
   * You may also see an *Application Status* widget on your dashboard indicating your application is `In Review`.

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Declined" %}
If your marketplace application is rejected, you'll receive a notification via email. You can also confirm your marketplace status in your account as follows:

1. Open your [dashboard](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/home/pview.ihtml).
   * There will be a message on your dashboard confirming that your application was `Declined`.
2. See the section below for insight into why this could be.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Not submitted" %}
You may not have fully completed your marketplace application yet. Check if you have:

1. In the upper-right corner of your screen, select ![](/files/wwFzX9PI7PPDcIzEGwSW) **\[User profile]**.
   * If you still see the option *Join the Impact.com Marketplace*, you haven't submitted an application yet.
   * You may also see a dashboard widget prompting you to *Join the marketplace*.
2. See [Join the Marketplace](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/applying-to-brands/join-the-brands-marketplace.md) for help getting started.

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Other" %}
If you don’t have access to the marketplace and none of the application statuses apply to you, you may be in a direct (exclusive) relationship with a brand. Depending on the brand’s rules, you may have to create a separate partner account to access the marketplace. [Contact your brand](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/contacting-a-brand/message-your-brands.md) directly if this is the case, or otherwise [contact support](https://app.impact.com/support/portal.ihtml?createTicket=true).
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

#### Why we decline applications

impact.com is committed to building a high-quality marketplace where brands and partners can build mutually beneficial relationships. For this reason, we need to ensure that every brand and partner on the marketplace is properly screened. If your application was declined, it was likely related to 1 of the issues outlined below.

<table><thead><tr><th>Issue</th><th>Why it's a concern</th><th width="250">Best practice</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Incomplete information</td><td>We can't confirm you are who you claim to be.</td><td>Fill out your <a href="/pages/R70UuylkuDfRJle4wyet">company</a> and <a href="/pages/uT9KMHWftM56O2RlWhqn">public profile</a> information thoroughly. Double-check that all information is accurate, up-to-date, and verifiable.</td></tr><tr><td>Media property concerns</td><td>We can't verify the social media accounts you added belong to you or meet our quality standards.</td><td>Ensure the social media accounts you add to your profile are connected and your websites are verified. <a href="/pages/8LTshSLgdFZKaCrZ64UC">Connecting ALL your media properties</a> gives you the best chance of approval.</td></tr><tr><td>Limited reach or activity</td><td>Your media properties don't yet show enough traffic or audience to support valuable partnerships with brands.</td><td>Continue building your online presence and reapply to the marketplace once your reach has grown. In the meantime, consider connecting directly with brands to build your reputation.</td></tr><tr><td>MPA Violations</td><td>Your account has been flagged internally for concerns around fraud or policy violation.</td><td>Always adhere to impact.com's <a href="https://impact.com/legal/impact.com_Master_Program_Agreement.pdf">Master Program Agreement</a> (MPA). </td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Reapply to the marketplace

If you believe your application was declined by mistake, contact your Partner Development Manager (PDM) to appeal the decision on your behalf. Be prepared to provide any additional information that may help our team re-evaluate your application. If you're unsure who your PDM is, [contact support](https://app.impact.com/support/portal.ihtml?createTicket=true).
