# Create Tracking Links via the Chrome Extension
Once you've [set up the impact.com Chrome extension](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/chrome-extension/impactcom-for-chrome-extension-overview.md), you can begin creating tracking links for brands with which [you're partnered](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/applying-to-brands/find-and-apply-to-brands.md). You can also [manage your chrome extension's settings](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/chrome-extension/manage-your-chrome-extension-settings.md).

## Choose a product to promote
There are 2 ways to get started:

You can start creating tracking links from any product page using the extension.
1. Navigate to the product page you want to promote.
* Depending on your [notification settings](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/chrome-extension/manage-your-chrome-extension-settings.md#set-notifications-for-earning-opportunities), a pop up may appear in the upper-right corner if the website domain matches one on the impact.com platform to which you have permission to create a link.
* Alternatively, in the upper-right corner of your browser panel, select the  **\[impact.com logo]**.

If you already have a URL to a product page, you can paste it in your extension to start creating tracking links.
1. From any webpage, in the upper-right corner of your browser panel, select the **\[impact.com logo].**
* If you don't see the *Paste URL* field, select  **\[Back]**.
2. Paste the product link into the *Paste URL* field and select **Submit**.

**Warning**: The extension stops you if the product page or URL already has tracking information attached, such as a page you reached by selecting an existing tracking link. A link created from that URL may not credit you for the sales you drive. Close the message, then start again from the brand's original product page address.

## Choose your program
1. Select one of the brand's programs from the **Program**  **\[Drop-down menu]**.
* If you have multiple program options here, you can select  **\[Star] → Set as Default** to auto-select a specific program when visiting the brand's page in future.
2. Optionally, you can create tracking links for campaigns and tasks by selecting a campaign. This option will only be available if you're participating in active campaigns.
* In the *Task* section, use the  **\[Drop-down menu]** to choose the task with which this link should be associated.

## Add reporting parameters
1. To add reporting parameters to your tracking link, select **Advanced**  **\[Expand]**.
* Set your [Sub ID and Shared ID parameters](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/link-parameters/sub-id-and-shared-id-parameters-explained-for-partners.md).
* If you intend to share the link on a specific media property, select the relevant option from the **Media Property**  **\[Drop-down menu]**. This will let you easily identify which media property was responsible for link traffic in reporting.
* If you have multiple media property options here, you can select  **\[Star] → Set as Default** to auto-select a specific property when visiting the brand's page in future.

## Create your link
1. Select **Create Link**.
* You can create a [vanity link](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/create-a-vanity-link.md) by selecting  **\[Edit]** and editing the slug (the text after the forward slash). Select  **\[Check]** to save your changes, or select  **\[Exit]** to exit the editing mode.
2. Once your link is created, select  **\[Copy]** and share your link with your audience.
