# Create Tracking Links via the Chrome Extension

Once you've [set up](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/chrome-extension/impactcom-for-chrome-extension-overview.md) the [impact.com Chrome extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/impactcom-for-chrome/jliaphkmaknmllgfgfifmaciiindcpmi) , you can begin creating tracking links for brands with which [you're partnered](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/applying-to-brands/find-and-apply-to-brands.md).

1. In your browser, navigate to a product page you want to promote on the website of a brand with which you're partnered.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Open the extension" %}
A notification will appear in the upper-right corner if the website domain matches one on the impact.com platform to which you have permission to create a link.

* Alternatively, in the upper-right corner of your browser panel, select the extension's icon.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Manually paste the product link" %}
From any web page you can also paste a direct product link into the extension manually:

1. Select the extension's icon in your browser. It looks like an ![](/files/dNz9DRFYBGYpd4fGC7lY) **\[impact.com logo]**.

2. If you don't see the *Paste URL* field, select ![](/files/enIfOOYsv7nOzi7o1KvY) **\[Back]**.

3. Paste the product link into the *Paste URL* field and select **Submit**.
   {% endtab %}
   {% endtabs %}

4. Select one of the brand's programs from the **Program** ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Drop-down menu]**.
   * If you have multiple program options here, you can select ![](/files/SHHGLSTrraN2V9oDpXPq) **\[Star] → Set as Default** to auto-select a specific program when visiting the brand's page in future.

5. Optionally, creators participating in campaigns can [connect links to campaigns and tasks](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/campaigns/creator-campaigns/generate-tracking-links-for-campaign-tasks-as-a-creator.md) by selecting a campaign. This option will only be available to creators that are participating in active campaigns.
   * Under *Task*, use the ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Drop-down menu]** to choose the task with which this link should be associated.
   * Select **Advanced** ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Expand]** to add additional reporting parameters to your campaign-specific link.

6. To add additional reporting parameters to your tracking link, select **Advanced** ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Expand]**.
   * Set your [Sub ID and Shared ID parameters](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/link-parameters/sub-id-and-shared-id-parameters-explained-for-partners.md).
   * If you intend to share the link on a specific media property, select the relevant option from the **Media Property** ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Drop-down menu]**. This will let you easily identify which media property was responsible for link traffic in reporting.
     * If you have multiple media property options here, you can select ![](/files/SHHGLSTrraN2V9oDpXPq) **\[Star] → Set as Default** to auto-select a specific property when visiting the brand's page in future.

7. Select **Create Link**.

   * You can ![](/files/xFM4D1lhSJsIyo4GR8gu) **\[Edit]** or ![](/files/1reYDMUpbqUO9DAyWzst) **\[Copy]** the generated link.
   * To create a [vanity link](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/create-a-vanity-link.md), select the generated link. You can then edit the slug (the text appearing after the forward slash) to create your custom name.
   * If you have multiple partner accounts tied to your username, use the ![](/files/8sWL7hpIpupIhTbAluAU) **\[Drop-down menu]** in the upper-left corner to swap between accounts and create links for each.
