# Manage Lightning Pay for Partners

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Lightning Pay is available to eligible partners in the United States and Canada who are paid in USD and meet [payment qualification requirements](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/payout-troubleshooting/payment-requirements-explained-for-partners.md). Lightning Pay is subject to the Lightning Pay terms and conditions. Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or [impact.com support](https://app.impact.com/support/portal.ihtml?createTicket=true) if you have questions about availability for your account.
{% endhint %}

Lightning Pay gives you fast access to your earnings. To check your eligibility and activate the feature, see [Lightning Pay Explained for Partners](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/instant-withdrawals/access-your-earnings-sooner.md).

After you activate Lightning Pay, manage it from the [Lightning Pay dashboard](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/fr/finance/lightning-pay/index.ihtml), where you can:

* [Review your key insights](#understand-your-key-insights) — advances, available earnings, and outstanding recovery
* [Change your maximum speed/fee level](#change-your-maximum-speed-fee-level)
* [Stop future advances](#stop-future-advances)
* [Review your recent advance history](#review-your-recent-advance-history)

## Understand your key insights

The *Key Insights* section on the Lightning Pay dashboard summarizes what you've advanced recently, how much of your locked earnings you can still advance, and what is still recovering.

<table><thead><tr><th width="195.49609375">Key insight</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Advanced</td><td>The total value of advances credited to your impact.com balance over the last 30 days. The percentage below the amount compares this to the previous 30-day period. A decrease usually reflects fewer locked earnings in the period rather than a change to your eligibility.</td></tr><tr><td>Net pending earnings</td><td>The value of your locked earnings that haven't been advanced yet, and so are still available to advance.</td></tr><tr><td>Advances waiting for repayment</td><td>The value of advances impact.com has issued to you and not yet fully recovered. The progress bar tracks the amount <em>paid back</em> against the <em>total to repay</em>. Recovery happens automatically as brands pay you, so this amount decreases without any action from you, and shows $0.00 once every advance you've taken has been fully recovered.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Change your maximum speed/fee level

You can adjust how quickly your earnings are advanced by changing your maximum speed/fee level.

1. From the top navigation bar, in the upper-right corner, select your **Earnings Account →** [**Lightning Pay**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/fr/finance/lightning-pay/index.ihtml).
2. On the Lightning Pay dashboard, select the **Manage** tab.
3. Select **Manage** from the *Lightning Pay* widget.
4. From the **Speed cap** ![Drop-down menu](https://347878556-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fb2rE79d9UhOKZQLgzSqx%2Fuploads%2FcPa68OltbIaD3QiiS0J4%2FDrop-down.svg?alt=media\&token=db083c4f-c5aa-47e3-91ab-9a2b9a2152ea) **\[Drop-down menu]**, select your maximum speed/fee level.
5. Select **Save**.

Your maximum speed/fee level determines how early Lightning Pay can advance your earnings:

* A higher level allows earlier advances.
* A lower level may result in fewer or later advances.

The service fee for each advance is based on how many days early it’s paid, not on your maximum speed/fee level. Raising your maximum level doesn’t raise the fee on every advance. To learn more, see [Lightning Pay Explained for Partners](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/instant-withdrawals/access-your-earnings-sooner.md#advance-payment-service-fees-reference).

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://347878556-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fb2rE79d9UhOKZQLgzSqx%2Fuploads%2FE4ipBvtMIeOV8kSXVmLr%2FScreenshot%202026-08-25%20at%2009.31.47.png?alt=media&amp;token=3b756cfd-b66a-4911-bcb4-12a6f06daf46" alt="Lightning Pay widget with the Speed cap drop-down menu" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

## Stop future advances

You can stop future advances at any time without affecting recovery for earnings already advanced.

1. On the Lightning Pay dashboard, select the **Manage** tab.
2. Select **Manage** from the *Lightning Pay* widget.
3. Select **Disable Lightning Pay**.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://347878556-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fb2rE79d9UhOKZQLgzSqx%2Fuploads%2FjPCEH8XEDuKEjFWW0f4y%2FScreenshot%202026-08-13%20at%2009.19.20.png?alt=media&amp;token=a6419251-bc69-4b7c-be66-c644d21b710b" alt="Disable Lightning Pay option in the Lightning Pay widget" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Warning:** Stopping Lightning Pay prevents future advances. Earnings already advanced are still recovered from incoming payments when they reach their due date. A processed advance generally can’t be stopped or recalled.
{% endhint %}

## Track advanced payments and repayments

You can review Lightning Pay advances, fees, and recoveries on your [Balance screen](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/your-balance/balance-screen-overview-for-partners.md).

1. From the top navigation bar, in the upper-right corner, select your **Earnings Account →** [**Balance**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/finance/fr/finance-dropdown.ihtml?u=%2Fsecure%2Ffinance%2Fapp%2Flist-completed-transactions-flow.ihtml).
2. Use the *Transaction* filter to filter by **LightningPay**.
   * The *Transaction/Description* column displays three transaction types:
     * *LightningPay Recoveries*: Repayment of the advance
     * *LightningPay Fees*: The service fee charged for the advance
     * *LightningPay Provisions*: The gross advance payment
3. Select a transaction to view more details.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/instant-withdrawals/manage-lightning-pay-for-partners.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
