Once you meet the prerequisites to be paid and your impact.com balance reaches $10 USD (or your currency equivalent), your funds become eligible for withdrawal. Follow the steps below so we can deliver your payouts securely via your preferred payout method and schedule.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Can't wait for your balance to reach $10? See [Anytime PayPal Explained for Partners](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/anytime-paypal-explained-for-partners.md).

## Submit the necessary tax details

Tax requirements differ depending on whether you are:

<details>

<summary>US-based or working with US-based brands</summary>

If you are US-based (or not US-based but work with US-based brands), an electronic tax document is required once your yearly earnings reach the IRS threshold of $2,000 USD in a U.S. tax year (January 1 to December 31). impact.com cannot release payouts to you until your electronic tax document, required by IRS, has been submitted and approved. For step-by-step guidance on submitting tax forms, see:

* [Submit Your Electronic Tax Document as a Partner](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/submit-your-electronic-tax-document.md)

{% hint style="success" %}
**Note:** Make sure the mailing address on the form is accurate and up-to-date, as this is where your 1099 tax form will be mailed at the end of the tax year. You’ll receive an email once your tax form has been received and verified.
{% endhint %}

</details>

<details>

<summary>Non-US-based and working exclusively with non-US brands</summary>

If you're a non-US partner working exclusively with non-US brands, you're not required to submit an electronic tax document. Instead, ensure your tax details are correct:

1. From the top navigation bar, select ![](/files/wwFzX9PI7PPDcIzEGwSW) **\[User profile] → Settings**. &#x20;
2. Under *General*, select [**Company Information**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/accountSettings/account-info-flow.ihtml).
3. Navigate to the *Tax Information* section.
   * Confirm that your *Indirect tax selection* and *Indirect tax number* are correct.

</details>

{% hint style="success" %}
**Keep your payment and tax details updated to avoid maintenance fees:** If impact.com is unable to pay you for 6 months, a monthly account maintenance fee will apply starting in month 7. The fee is £25 GBP per month (or your payout currency equivalent) under the [*invoicing via an impact.com entity*](/other/reference-documentation/understanding-impactcoms-trading-models.md) invoicing method, and $10 USD per month (or your payout currency equivalent) under the [*direct*](/other/reference-documentation/understanding-impactcoms-trading-models.md) invoicing method. This fee is non-refundable and is charged until you either provide valid, updated tax or payment information, or your account balance reaches 0.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Verify your phone number

Verifying your phone number is a necessary security measure to allow [two-factor authentication](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-factor_authentication).

1. From the top navigation bar, select ![](/files/wwFzX9PI7PPDcIzEGwSW) **\[User profile] →** [**Edit Profile**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/user-settings-flow.ihtml). &#x20;
2. In the *Basic Info* section, select **Enter phone number**.
3. Select your country from the ![](/files/MI0qiZso0KSqqJFsbtpU) **\[Drop-down menu]** and enter your phone number, then select **Send Code**.
4. Enter the *Verification Code* you receive by SMS.

   * If you don't get a prompt to verify your phone number, you can skip to step 3 below.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Address outstanding payment requirements

If your account has any unmet payment requirements, impact.com will notify you by email and display a banner notification on your dashboard. You must meet all payment requirements to be eligible for payout.

1. Check your [dashboard](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/home/pview.ihtml) for any active banner notifications.
2. Find the matching notification in [Payment Requirements Explained for Partners](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payment-requirements-explained-for-partners.md) and follow the next steps to resolve it.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Set up your bank details

Now you're ready to set up *how* and *when* you get paid. Refer directly to [Set Up Your Bank Details](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/withdraw-funds-to-your-bank-account.md) to complete this step.&#x20;

You'll choose between:

* Having your balance withdrawn to a specified bank account or a PayPal account
* Withdrawing once your balance hits a preset threshold or once you reach a fixed day in the month

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Whenever you update your bank details in impact.com, as a security measure, a 48-hour pause is enforced for withdrawals. If any inaccuracies or security issues are found with the updated details, you'll get a [banner notification](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payment-requirements-explained-for-partners.md) explaining how to resolve the issue.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

## Understand what causes payment delays

Knowing what can delay your funds from reaching you is important. Here's what typically causes payments to come through later than expected:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/payments-withdrawals-and-balance/how-do-partners-get-paid.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
