# Step 1: Work with Brands

**Were you invited to impact.com by a brand?** If a brand sent you a sign-up link to their program or campaign, you can skip applying to the Marketplace. Start working with your partnered brand right away by [sharing your affiliate tracking links or promo codes](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/getting-started/readme/im-a-creator/step-3-share-tracking-links-or-promo-codes) or by [creating and submitting your creator deliverables](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/getting-started/readme/im-a-creator/step-5-create-and-submit-your-deliverables).

If you've just [signed up](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/getting-started/sign-up-as-a-partner-on-impactcom) to impact.com, your next step is to [apply to join](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/applying-to-brands/join-the-brands-marketplace) the *Brands Marketplace*. The *Brands Marketplace* is where you can find brands and apply to partner with them. The Marketplace application asks for:

* Some basic personal details, like your name and email address.
* Information about the [social media accounts](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/account-management/account-settings/connect-media-properties/connect-a-social-media-profile) you’d use to promote brands.
* Tax residency information and any [required tax forms](https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/finance/finance-documents/electronic-tax-documents-for-partners-explained).

Your marketplace profile is critical to how brands find and evaluate you!

**Your marketplace profile should:**

* Be complete.
* Convey who you are.
* Be clear about the types of brands you want to work with.
* Have a comprehensive description that includes keywords that your ideal brands would search for when recruiting.
* List and verify the ownership of all your media properties to give brands confidence in what you have to offer.

We review applications within 72 hours. If yours is approved, we’ll send you an email. Once you’re in the Brands Marketplace, start looking for *affiliate programs* and *creator campaigns* to join. These partnership types work a bit differently—browse both to get a sense of the possibilities!

**Tip:** If you’re interested in working with a brand that doesn't have a public creator campaign, apply to their affiliate program—it may open doors for you to work with them on a creator campaign later! Some brands only allow their contracted affiliates to view and apply to their creator campaigns.
