# Tracking Links Overview

When you partner with a brand, you gain access to various promotional assets equipped with tracking links that enable impact.com to monitor any conversions, such as sales, that you generate, potentially resulting in payouts from the brand; additionally, depending on the brand, you may be permitted to deep link these tracking links to direct customers to specific pages on the brand’s website or app.

## Is deep linking allowed?

Brands can choose to disable deep linking for more control over their programs. Follow the steps below to determine whether a brand allows deep linking.

1. From the top navigation bar, select **Manage** → **My Brands** → [**My Brands**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/marketplace/new-campaign-marketplace-flow.ihtml).
2. From the marketplace navigation menu, select the brand for which you want to check deep linking permissions.
   * A modal will appear providing details about the brand.
3. On the right-hand column of the modal, select the **Details** tab.
4. In the *How we track* section:

   * If there is a ![](https://347878556-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fb2rE79d9UhOKZQLgzSqx%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-4e2eb56f7a0317e4afab899bcc5728b41c936979%2F156d94b4eae47d787101ad70424e4db735832f2f96a09cbe3ccfa3e08e408b05.svg?alt=media) **\[Check]** on the *Deep Linking* block, then the brand allows deep linking in general.
   * If the *Deep Linking* block is greyed out, then the brand doesn't allow deep linking by default. You can try [reaching out to the brand](/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/working-with-brands/contacting-a-brand/access-brand-contact-information.md) to request the feature.

## Deep linking specific assets

* Even if a brand allows deep linking in general, it can still disable deep linking for a specific asset.
* To determine whether a specific asset can be deep linked, select **Manage →** [**Brand Creatives**](https://app.impact.com/secure/mediapartner/ads/searchAdsDirectoryMP.ihtml#adType=all) and expand the *Deeplinking* filter on the left. Here you can choose to view assets for which deep linking is *Supported* or *Not Supported*.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/partner/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/tracking/tracking-links/create-and-manage-links/tracking-links-overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
