Review Your Seller Program Catalog

Your Seller program catalog is generated automatically from your retailer's product data. As a seller, you can only pay out partners for promoting items in this catalog, so review it regularly to ensure the correct products are eligible for commission.

How your catalog is generated

As a seller, you don't need to upload product catalogs yourself. impact.com creates a catalog for your Seller program based on the product data of your retailer, then refreshes it daily against the retailer's data. The retailers on our platform typically update their catalogs weekly with the latest prices and stock counts.

Why you need to review your catalog

The contents of your catalog define which of your products your partners can promote for commission. Reviewing your catalog helps you prevent:

Review your catalog

1

Plan a review cadence

We recommend reviewing your catalog:

  • During onboarding to ensure the right products are available to your partners.

  • Immediately after onboarding to flag any inaccuracies early.

  • Periodically after that to catch any errors arising from a catalog refresh.

Any time you update your product line on the retailer's site, be sure to check that the updates reflect in your Seller program catalog. However, if you recently updated your product line on the retailer's site, and the expected update hasn't reached your catalog yet, give it a day or two before flagging it.

2

Understand which products should appear

During onboarding, you applied a product filter based on your relationship with the retailer to determine which products are eligible for your catalog. If you selected:

  • All — your catalog should include all products associated with your consumer brand name, regardless of whether they are 1P or 3P products.

  • Exclude third party products — your catalog should be limited to 1P products you sold to the retailer for them to resell and ship directly to customers. These are products bearing your brand name which you effectively handed over ownership of.

  • Show only third party products — your catalog should be limited to the 3P products you sell and ship to customers through the retailer's marketplace.

3

View your catalog SKUs

  1. From the left navigation bar, select [Engage]ContentProductsProduct Catalogs.

  2. Hover over the catalog and select [More]View Products.

    • If you prefer viewing the SKUs in a spreadsheet, select Download Products.

  3. The catalog's list of products will appear with their details. Ensure the following:

    • Coverage: Every product you want partners to promote is correctly listed

    • Accuracy: The products in your catalog are all yours, not another seller's products mapped to you by mistake

4

Fix any inaccuracies

If you find any missing or incorrect SKUs listed in the catalog, the next step depends on which issue you're seeing:

Issue
How to fix

Your SKU is missing from the retailer's website entirely.

Contact the retailer to add or restore the listing.

Your SKU is on the retailer's site but your program's 1P/3P selection filters it out from the catalog.

If you want it included, your Seller program's relationship type will need to change. Contact support.

Your SKU is on the retailer's site and matches your 1P/3P selection, but it's still not in the catalog.

Contact support so we can investigate.

A SKU that isn't yours is mapped to your brand in the catalog.

Contact the retailer to correct the brand mapping on their listing. If this fails, contact support.

Any mapping changes will update when the retailer's catalog refreshes, so allow some time for the data to sync.

5

Adjust which SKUs are payable (optional)

You can further exclude specific SKUs from being paid out by using exception lists. This can be useful when your catalog contains low-margin products you don't want to incentivize partners to promote.

You'll create an exception list containing the specified SKUs and assign it a payout group rule of 0% commission. Partners may still see these products in the Product Marketplace, but they won't earn commissions on sales. See Exception Lists for more info.
