Configure CPC Payouts for Amazon Seller
You can now add a Cost Per Click (CPC) event type to your Amazon Seller program template terms. This event type lets you track and pay partners for driving click traffic to your storefront on Amazon, while offering granular control over which clicks you want to pay for and at what rate.
Some things you can do with CPC tracking:
What changes for you
Good news! CPC tracking captures clicks via redirect, meaning you don't need separate tracking links or an additional tracking setup. If you include both the Online Sale and Click event types in your contract with a partner, they will each track independently without interfering with each other.
We recommend including both event types in your template terms even if you don't intend paying out for both sales and clicks. This is because adding both event types will ensure both kinds of data show up in your reporting. You can always set the click or sales payout to 0% if you don't wish to incentivize partners to drive both. Note on availability: CPC tracking is supported on all impact.com account editions excluding Starter. For Amazon Seller programs specifically, payouts are enabled at program level but not campaign level.

After our team confirms that the feature has been enabled for your account, you'll need to choose one of the following options to manage your contracts. To learn more about each option and its effects on partners, see the links below:
Create new template terms and invite new partners to avoid disrupting any ongoing contracts.

Now you're ready to create your payout rules:
Refer directly to Set Your Click Payout Rules with CPC V2 for guidance.
When setting CPC rules, be sure include Limits for either clicks or payout to safeguard your budget against unexpected surges in click traffic.
Verify your event type
Next, you want to confirm that your new event type tracks clicks, directs customers to your product detail page on Amazon, and passes data about the partner who should be credited for a click.
Create a test text link asset. Name it something like "Test CPC link" for easy reference.
Place a test order following the same process used in your initial integration.
Ensure your order fulfills all the Attribution API's requirements detailed in the linked article above.
Confirm that your click and conversion data appear in reporting. If you have any trouble with this step, contact support.
Repeat these steps for all your partners.
Share your contract updates
Once you've verified your event type, explain the contract updates to your partners and push them live:
Be sure to leave a comment explaining the change.
Clarify that partners can access their tracking links as usual. Their existing tracking links will continue to work and do not need to be replaced.
Optionally, share our help article on how to create tracking links for Seller programs with your partners.
Still have questions?
Can I pay partners for both clicks and sales simultaneously?
Yes. Clicks and sales are completely independent payable event types. As long as you include both Click and Online Sale event types in your contract terms, partners will be compensated for both.
Will a CPC event type track sales data if I don't have a sales event type on the contract?
No. Because clicks and sales are independent events, any sales driven without a sale event type in the underlying contract will be discarded by the system. If you only want to pay out on clicks but still want to see sales data in your reporting, you must include the sale event type in the contract and set the payout to 0%.
Do I need to create separate tracking links for CPC and product sale payouts?
No. Depending on how you generate your link, it either tracks at program, partner, or ad level. However, the link functions independently of the payout model, allowing it to capture both click and conversion events simultaneously.
Can I use CPC if a partner doesn’t use impact.com tracking links?
No. If a partner bypasses impact.com tracking links and uses their own link generation process, CPC tracking will not work.
If you don't see your question above, contact support instead.
