Set Up the Recruitment Agent

This article walks through setting up and activating your Recruitment Agent, and explains the settings for each sub-agent. For an overview of the agent and how it works, see Recruitment Agent. For how to write the Instructions the agent runs on, see Write Effective Agent Instructions.

Set up and activate the agent

Follow these steps to set up and activate your Recruitment Agent.

1

Open the Browse Agents page

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Agents.

    • If you already have an active agent, select Browse Agents in the top right.

  2. Under Task agents, select the Recruitment Agent tile.

2

Set up your agent

  1. Optionally, update the Agent Name. The default is "Recruitment Agent."

  2. In Your website URL, enter your brand's website URL. It is pre-populated, and you can change it to any URL you want. A page with detailed brand information, such as an About us page, can help the agent build more accurate Instructions.

  3. Select Configure Agent.

    • impact.com uses AI to generate your starting Instructions from your website and Marketplace Profile. This takes around 10–15 seconds.

    • If the AI cannot generate your Instructions, for example because your brand URL is unreachable, you can write them manually. See Write Effective Agent Instructions.

3

Review and edit your Instructions

  1. On the funnel, in the Agent Configuration panel, select Edit.

  2. Review the generated Instructions. See Write Effective Agent Instructions for guidance.

  3. Select Save.

4

Configure the sub-agents

  1. On a sub-agent card, set the toggle to [Toggle on] or [Toggle off].

  2. Select Edit to open the sub-agent's settings.

  3. Adjust the settings, then select Save. See the Discover settings and Evaluate Applications settings references below.

  4. Select Update in the top right of the page to apply your changes.

5

Activate your agent

Select Activate Agent in the top right.

After you activate the agent, it moves into the Agents list and begins working. Scheduled Discovery runs start from the next scheduled time, and the Evaluate Applications sub-agent starts processing new inbound applications.

Review the sub-agent settings

Each sub-agent comes pre-configured. Expand a sub-agent below to review what each setting does before you activate the agent.

Discover settings
  • Sourcing channels: choose where the sub-agent looks for new partners.

    • impact.com Marketplace (selected by default): searches for partners already on the impact.com network. Proposals are sent within the impact.com platform and are likely to have higher conversions.

    • Creator Search (coming soon): searches for relevant creators on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Assign groups: when set to [Toggle on], the agent automatically assigns newly discovered prospects to a group. This defaults to the Recruitment Agent: Discover group.

  • Schedule Run Cadence: set a schedule to discover new partners automatically. If it is set to [Toggle off], you can still run Discovery manually at any time using Run Discover. For Beta, you can run Discovery once every 24 hours. A scheduled run uses that daily limit, so if a run is scheduled you cannot also run it manually that day.

  • Maximum Run Limit: set the per-run cap using the slider, from 10–50, with a default of 30. This gives you predictable batch sizes instead of an open-ended stream of new prospects.

Evaluate Applications settings
  • Quality & Safety Guardrails (recommended): vet new partner sign-ups against the platform's Marketplace standards, so you focus on high-quality applications. A partner that meets these standards is Marketplace approved. These checks look at signals such as identity and contact details, media properties, audience authenticity, content safety, traffic quality, and risk indicators; impact.com sets and maintains the exact criteria and thresholds. Turning this setting on also turns on the Partner Verification setting; turning it off does not turn Partner Verification off. You can find Partner Verification in your Partner Signup Page settings.

  • Default fallback: set what the agent does with applications from partners that do not meet the Marketplace standards. Select one of the following:

    • Leave Pending (default): leave these applications pending for you to review manually.

    • Reject: reject these applications automatically.

  • Agent Autonomy: select Autopilot to have the agent compare each application against your Instructions and the partner's data, then accept or reject clear matches, or Copilot to have the agent recommend an action by assigning applications to a group while you make the final decision.

  • Group partners: when set to [Toggle on], the agent automatically assigns a group once it evaluates an application. You can customize the group name used for each outcome:

    • Accepted: defaults to "Accepted by Recruitment Agent."

    • Pending: defaults to "Left pending by Recruitment Agent."

    • Rejected: defaults to "Rejected by Recruitment Agent."
