# Understand Partner Relationship Statuses

Knowing what each partner status means helps you track your recruitment efforts and take the right actions when managing participants in your program.

A partner's status can mean different things depending on the context. For example, the term `Active` might refer to their general standing in the Marketplace, the state of their legal contract with you, or their recent performance in your program. Each of these is distinct and signals something different.

This guide clarifies where you’ll encounter partner statuses across the platform and what each one means in context. Jump to the section that matches where you’re working in the platform:

The tabs at the top of the *Applications* screen labeled *New* and *Processed* are not partner status indicators. Instead, they allow you to toggle between applications you've not yet [managed](/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/review-partner-applications/manage-applications-and-send-proposals.md) (accepted, rejected, or countered) and those you have.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/reach-out-to-partners/partner-management/understand-partner-relationship-statuses.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
