## Best practices when using AI in your newsletter

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Do" %}

* Provide clear and concise prompts that explain what your newsletter should cover.
* Include links in your guidance; they will be automatically incorporated into the ai-generated output.
* Include examples in the *Additional examples* section to guide the ai's tone and style.
* Use the *Additional context* section to give the ai relevant background information, such as audience, goals, or tone.
* Review and edit the ai generated content to ensure it aligns with your brand voice and factual accuracy.
* Preview your newsletter on both desktop and mobile to confirm formatting and readability before sending.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Don't" %}

* Don't rely solely on the ai's first output; regenerate or edit the content if it doesn’t match your intent.
* Don't exceed the 500-character limit in the *Additional examples* or *Additional context* sections.
* Don't include sensitive or confidential data in your prompts or examples.
* Don't skip the preview step, since formatting might appear differently across email providers.
* Don't use unsupported special tokens or unusual characters, as they can break formatting or cause generation errors.

For the supported tokens and ad code limits, refer to the [Dynamic fields reference](/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/reach-out-to-partners/newsletters/create-and-send-newsletters-to-partners.md#dynamic-fields-reference) in *Create & Send Newsletters to Partners*.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/reach-out-to-partners/newsletters/using-impact-ai-in-your-newsletter.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
