# Create a Social Monitoring Policy

A policy allows you to automate the monitoring and remediation of partner content to ensure your brand is promoted safely, all your tracking links work, and more.

#### Create a new social monitoring policy

1. From the left navigation bar, select ![](/files/R8AxmtABBX7EqHjIMAwy) **\[Protect]** → **Monitoring** → [**Policies**](https://app.impact.com/secure/advertiser/protect/fr/compliance-search-monitor-policy.ihtml?u=%2Fsecure%2Fcompliance%2Fdata%2Fcompliance-search-monitor-policy-flow.ihtml).
2. In the upper-right corner, select **Create Policy**.
3. Select **Social Monitoring**, then select 1 scenario to guide the policy:

   | Scenario                | Description                                                                                    |
   | ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | Unapproved Terms        | Monitor your partners to ensure that their content aligns with your policies.                  |
   | Brand Safety            | Monitor your partners using advanced machine learning to protect your policies and reputation. |
   | Disclosure Verification | Monitor partner posts to validate presence of sponsored content disclosures and hashtags.      |
4. Select **Get Started**.
5. Complete the following sections:

1. Enter the keywords, brand mentions, product names, or hashtags associated with your brand that you want to monitor.
2. Select **Next**.

1. Enter any terms or hashtags you don't want associated with your brand, such as competitor brand mentions.
2. Select **Next**.
