Your account level determines your keyword limit during Paid Search Monitoring onboarding. Once onboarded, you can create your first policy.

## Create a Paid Search Monitoring policy

1. From the left navigation bar, select ![](/files/R8AxmtABBX7EqHjIMAwy) **\[Protect] → Monitoring → Policies**.
   * If you have existing policies, they are shown here.
2. In the upper-right corner, select **Create Policy** → **Paid Search Monitoring**.
3. Select **Get Started**.
4. On the *Create Policy* screen that appears, enter a **Name** for your policy.
5. From the ![](/files/jA6jLZ1RleK5VI2zmvap) **\[Drop-down menu]**, select the **Country/Region**, **Language**, and **Search Engines** that you want to monitor.
   * The *Search Engines* you can monitor will vary based on the **Country/Region** selected and your account product edition.
   * Only one **Country/Region** can be applied per policy. To monitor multiple countries, create a separate policy for each.
6. Enter the **Trademarks** and/or keywords that you want to monitor.
   * Enter each keyword on a separate line. Keywords are *Exact Match*, meaning that only the exact keyword combinations entered here are monitored.
   * Any variations or misspellings must be entered as separate keywords.
7. Optionally, under *Violations*, select ![](/files/pJsLBrBDVoHbzf2iiL1a) **\[Unchecked box]** to the left of one of the violation options:

   | Violation option                                                                | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/platform-features/protect-and-monitor-your-performance-program/paid-search-monitoring/create-a-paid-search-monitoring-policy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
