# Create Promo Codes for Hired Creators

When setting up promo codes for your creators, there are two different scenarios in which your account has:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Performance & Creator" %}
To correctly create promo codes for Creator events that are set up from a Performance program, there is an additional step involved to ensure it gets attributed properly and must be done for each creator.

1. In your Creator program, make sure the creator is joined to the program.
   * Under ![](/files/CDnwOBeIdds9r3Z6zTnO) **\[Engage]** → **Partners → Creators**, the partner should be listed with a green verification check. Alternatively, [invite creators to your campaign](/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/creator-program/recruit-creators/manage-creator-campaign-applicants.md#invite-new-creators-to-your-campaign-0-1).

3. Find a relevant Creator Media Source from the list and select ![](/files/mQTDSmR70Q3Eybmgev6e) **\[More]** **→ Tracking → Assign New Promo Code**.
4. Fill out the relevant information and select **Save**.
5. Next, you'll assign the promo code to the creator. In your Creator program under ![](/files/CDnwOBeIdds9r3Z6zTnO) **\[Engage]**, navigate to **Content → Promo Codes → Create Promo Code → Tracking**.
6. Fill out the required information and select **Save**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Please make sure that the same promo code assigned to a creator in the Creator program is not also assigned to a partner in the Performance program.
{% endhint %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Creator only" %}
To correctly create promo codes for creator events that are set up in the Creator program:

1. Make sure the creator is joined to your program.

   * Under ![](/files/CDnwOBeIdds9r3Z6zTnO) **\[Engage]** → **Partners → Creators**, the creator should be listed with a green verification check mark. If the creator you want to assign promo codes isn't joined to your program yet, [invite them to your campaign](/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/creator-program/recruit-creators/manage-creator-campaign-applicants.md#invite-new-creators-to-your-campaign-0-1).
