6. Optionally, select a **Special ad category**. The special ad category identifies ads that promote regulated topics such as social issues, elections or politics, housing, employment, or credit. Ads in these categories have restricted targeting due to anti-discrimination laws.
   * Refer to the *Special ad category reference* below to learn more about the specific categories.

### Set up your ad set

Your ad set controls who your audience is, your campaign budget, and schedule.

1. Under the **Ad Set name**, you can choose to create a new ad set or use an existing ad set:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Create new ad set" %}

1. To create a new ad set, select ![](/files/euLscWwm8UMCxhYcoHCx) **\[Radio button]** **Create a new Ad Set.**
2. Enter a **Name** for your new ad set.
3. Set the **Status** from the drop-down menu:

   * **Active**: The ad set is active and is delivering the content to audiences and spending budget.
4. Define your audience in the *Advantage+ Audience* section:
   * **Minimum age**: Set the minimum age of your audience.
   * **Maximum age**: Set the maximum age of your audience.
   * **Locations**: Set the location of your audience.
   * **Language**: Set the language of your audience.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Note**: Meta will prioritize audiences matching the definitions set in this section before searching beyond.
{% endhint %}

5. If you selected **Sales** as your campaign objective in [step 2](#set-up-your-campaign) above, you can define which on-site action you want your ad to drive and how that action is tracked:
   1. Select a **Meta Pixel** from the drop-down menu. The pixel tracks the conversion actions people take after interacting with your amplified ad.
   2. Select a **Custom Event Type** from the drop-down menu to define the conversion outcome you want, such as subscriptions or purchases. Refer to the *Custom event type reference* below.

6. Define your **Performance Goal** in the *Traffic* section. Select one of the following goals:
   * **Maximize number of link clicks**: Delivers your ad to the people most likely to click its link, optimizing for the highest number of clicks within your budget.
   * **Maximize number of landing page views**: Delivers your ad to people most likely to click the link and wait for the landing page to fully load, optimizing for completed page views rather than clicks alone.
   * **Maximize daily unique reach**: Delivers your ad to the largest possible number of unique people each day, showing it to a given person no more than once per day.
   * **Maximize number of impressions**: Delivers your ad as many times as possible, optimizing for total impressions even if the same people see it more than once.
7. Define your budget in the *Budget* section:
   1. Enter a **Bid Amount**.
   2. Select a *Billing Event*. Choose one of the following options:
      * **Impressions (CPM)**: You're charged on a cost-per-mille basis — that is, for every 1000 times your ad is shown, regardless of whether anyone clicks.
        * If you selected **Sales** as your campaign objective in [step 2](#set-up-your-campaign) above, then this is the only option available to you.
      * **Link Clicks (CPC)**: You're charged on a cost-per-click basis — that is, only when someone clicks the link in your ad.
   3. Select your **Budget** type from the drop-down menu (for example, daily budget) and enter the budget amount.
      * If you select a **Lifetime Budget** then you are required to select an **End date** in the *Schedule* section.

### Create the ad

1. Enter an **Ad name**.
2. Set the **Status** from the drop-down menu:
   * **Paused**: The ad is paused, nothing is shown to audiences and no budget is spent until you set it to **Active**. This is the default status, which allows you to finish configure and review everything before you make your ad live.
   * **Active**: The ad is active, delivering the content to your audience, and using your budget.
3. Select **Boost Existing Creative** from the *Creative* type drop-down menu.
   * Alternatively, select **Custom Creative** to replace the existing content and upload your own image or video file.
4. Select an **Identity** to control whose Meta account the amplified ad runs from and which name is attached to the ad.
   * Refer to the *Identity option reference* below for more information.

| Partner (creator) only | Runs your ad from your creator's account only. Your brand's account won't show in the ad's header. Consider using for campaigns when the creator is authentically promoting their use of a product or service. |

5. Select a **Call To Action type** from the drop-down menu and enter the URL you want to track conversions on in the `https://` field.
   * The call to action you select appears on your amplified ad, prompting viewers to take a specific action, such as to sign up, or shop now.
   * Refer to the *Call to action types* reference below to learn more.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Use the creator's tracking link:** In the *Call To Action* URL, enter the impact.com [tracking link](/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/creator-program/working-with-creators/generate-campaign-tracking-links-on-behalf-of-creators.md) generated for the specific creator whose campaign content you're amplifying. This attributes the ad's conversions to that creator's campaign task and ensures they're paid out. If you use a different or generic link, the ad won't be tied to that creator and they won't be credited.

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.impact.com/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/creator-program/working-with-creators/amplify-your-creator-ads/configure-an-amplification-campaign.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
