# Create a User Access Group

Before inviting users to your brand account, you need to set up user roles and *Access Groups*. This allows you to add new users to pre-defined groups with permissions tailored to their specific roles.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Before creating an access group, make sure you have the *User Role* you want to assign to that group. For more details on the full process, see [Understanding User Management as a Brand](https://help.impact.com/brand/what-would-you-like-to-learn-about/account-administration/account-settings/invite-and-manage-users/understanding-user-management-as-a-brand).
